Meet the Captain.
My name is Tyler Adams, you can call me Captain Ty, and my path on the water has never exactly been a straight line. I’ve spent years bouncing between oceans, boats, and fisheries, chasing whatever was biting and learning from whoever was willing to teach.
I got my start as a mate on sportfishing boats out of Harwitchport, MA working east of Chatham and figuring out the rhythm of New England fishing the only way you really can, one long day at a time. From there I ended up half a world away in San Diego, learning the Pacific and getting introduced to a whole new lineup of species, crews, and ways of doing things. Every stop I've made forced me to learn something different and helped me build my own style of getting the job done.
This includes my brief time fishing season A in the Bering Sea. For those unfamiliar with A-B seasons, “A” is in the dead of winter. Commercial fishing in conditions where the wind cuts through every layer you own and the ocean feels alive in a way that’s hard to explain. It wasn’t glamorous, but it was real. Out there you figure out quickly that the boat doesn’t move forward because you’re lucky. It moves because you work.
That’s been the theme of my career ever since,
Hard work always out-produces luck.
Everything I’ve done, every ocean, every boat, every fish—shaped the way I run trips today. I keep things relaxed, I stay patient, and I never forget that fishing is supposed to be fun. But behind all that is the work ethic I earned the long way.
If you come out with me, you’re getting someone who’s been around the country, learned from some of the best, fished in some of the worse conditions you can imagine, and still loves every second on the water.
